Soft Tissue Therapy
Whatever your level of physical activity, move freely and without pain
Soft tissue therapy is a safe & effective form of treatment which targets joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Predominantly using massage and techniques that work with the nervous system, it is used to treat injury, everyday strains, sprains and pains, as well as helping to alleviate symptoms from chronic health conditions that affect the muscles and joints.

For sports people, soft tissue therapy can help to reduce injury risk, prepare the body for activity & speed up recovery post activity.
In the case of injury, we offer assessment, treatment and rehabilitation exercise plans to get you back to doing what you love.

Massage can also influence the release of hormones & evidence supports the beneficial effects of massage therapy for those who experience anxiety, depression or occupational stress.

ASSESSMENT
Appointments normally include a discussion about the reason for visit and details of any injury, issues or pain. Postural assessment, joint movement and muscle testing may be undertaken. This enables understanding of the cause of the issue & appropriate treatment of symptoms, with a range of techniques individual to your needs.
TREATMENT
Treatment will typically combine traditional deep tissue massage with advanced techniques such as frictions, neuromuscular & muscle energy techniques, joint mobilisation & soft tissue release.
MANAGEMENT
Where appropriate, a bespoke exercise rehabilitation plan will be provided to aid recovery & address the underlying cause of your issue.
MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised soft tissue technique designed to stimulate your lymphatic system, helping to promote relaxation, reduce swelling & boost immunity.
The lymphatic system is a crucial part of your immune and circulatory systems. It consists of a network of vessels, nodes and organs that transport lymph — a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells — throughout your body. This system helps remove waste, toxins and excess fluid from tissues, supporting your body’s natural detoxification and immune response.

Unlike your heart, which pumps blood, the lymphatic system relies on gentle muscle movements, breathing and physical activity to keep lymph flowing. Factors such as injury, surgery, illness, sedentary lifestyle or inflammation can slow this flow, leading to discomfort, swelling or a feeling of heaviness.

MLD uses light, rhythmic and precise hand movements to encourage lymph flow and drainage.
It is a gentle technique, different from deep tissue massage, focusing on stimulating the lymph vessels and nodes to clear blockages, improve circulation & promote deep relaxation.
